St. Francis of Assissi This year, October 4th lands on a Sunday, so we will celebrate the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assissi on Friday, October 2nd. This is an early dismissal day. You may bring your pets with you during pick-up and Father will bless them as you drive by or the students may bring pictures of their pets or their stuffed animals to be blessed.
The dates for this year’s Run with a Mission 5K are coming up. There are many ways to earn money for our school. First, every dollar of the registration fee comes back to our school. There are also awards for the most registrants, the most fund raised, the best video, and for the most presence on social media. Let’s get our 5K social media presence going! Some ideas would be to post a picture of your child(ren) in uniform, whether they are doing schoolwork or walking/biking. Your caption could say something like, “Please join [child’s name] in supporting St. John Berchmans in the 14th Annual Run with a Mission 5K. Please be sure to tag St. John Berchmans Catholic School, the Archdiocese of San Antonio and include the hashtag: #CatholicSchool5K. The Hope for the Future board members will be looking for those details to decide who had the most presence on social media. It would also be an excellent idea to include the link for registration: https://www.archsa.org/hope/ As of Friday, September 11th, St. John Berchmans had 6 people registered for the 5K. Let’s see if we can get to 50 by next Friday!
